Hello,
I need to do some stuff (EvE related and not) on a VPS.
Besides the usual requirements (Linux, decent bandwidth, CPU etc.) I have these constraints:
1) It has to be fully managed with CPanel 2) There should be an option to get backups done from said panel or, better, periodic host company backups. 3) It should support root access 4) It should support using memcached, APC etc. 5) It should support installing and using a VPN.
Any ideas? I tried some, like i.e. Hostgator but they lack 2, 4 or 5.
Thanks in advance. Auditing | Collateral holding and insurance | Consulting | PLEX for Good Charity

Thank you. I have noticed they also give cPanel for medium sizes+ Auditing | Collateral holding and insurance | Consulting | PLEX for Good Charity

Hello,
thank you all for your submissions.
I got an additional requirement of having to host on a cloud VPS service, so the options quite shrunk down in number.
ATM I am oriented into vps.net, if only their sales dept was not so terrible.
Also, they ask me to:
- pay on UK pounds (I live in Tenerife - Spain, so I'd prefer paying with Euros or dollars).
- pay some > 10% V.A.T. , my island's V.A.T. is exactly 0% for international transactions. Auditing | Collateral holding and insurance | Consulting | PLEX for Good Charity

Linode seems very good but while not incredibly superior in price vs performance to other offers, they have quite expensive backup offers and otrageously expensive management solutions. Auditing | Collateral holding and insurance | Consulting | PLEX for Good Charity

They're pants-on-head stubborn about accepting anything other than GBP as currency, and subsequently the VAT thing: Your international transaction means absolutely diddly to them, as they are British, you are required to pay the British VAT. (Yes it's moronic, but that's life in general)
Well, actually:
- They ended up accepting USD. No way to accept Euro, but I would not accept that garbage, vastly overvalued currency as well.
- They created the account in manual and let me skip the VAT.
I had similar issues with Italy, where they insisted charging some dumbtarded 21%+ VAT and I had to pray to the Bernanke gods for that VAT to be removed. It's cool to live in a 0% VAT country... until you deal with all those who are plagued by it and feel like everyone has to be slave of the taxes to pay their over-engorged state inefficiency and wastes.
